Hingerty or Harrington? Waterford and Carrick-on-Suir

Image
Usually we find the surnames Hingerty and Harrington in southern Cork and northern Tipperary. However, there are references to both Hingerty and Harrington families in Kilkenny,Waterford and in tipperary close to the county border. Are these families related to each other? How do they fit into the bigger Hingerty/Harrington picture? By being granted English Liberty, Dermot was renouncing his Irish rights and agreed to enjoy all the rights, privileges and responsibilities of being a loyal subject of the English Crown. He, and his children (issue) would not be held back by the laws that restricted Irish access to employment, land etc. We know nothing more about Dermot or his family.  Note that in this period of Irish history, the only reference...

"Fiants were the warrants directed to the Irish Chancery, directing the issue of letters patent under the great seal and cover a wide variety of matters, including the leases and grants of land, appointments to offices, church beneficies, Irish chieftancies, etc commissions to exercise judicial or administrative authority, of the granting of pardons.
